Attending Children: We welcome volunteers from 13 years of age. If you have a child in your care between the ages of 13-16 who would like to volunteer, please be advised that you are required to register and attend the shift with them

The duties at the kennels are varied and we require that you are able to complete most of them. Please select which duties you are capable of carrying out
	General cleaning of surrounds (sweep, rake, general clean of dog exercise areas)
	Harnessing and Walking dogs of all sizes (some are very strong and will pull on lead)
	Provide basic training to dogs such as sit, heal, discourage jumping up,etc
	Clean kennels (The kennel height is restricted and you my be required to work with a bent back in some areas)
	Pick up dog poo and dispose of correctly.
	Feed dogs correct dietary requirements outlined on individual clipboards.
	Administer medication (tablets etc) in accordance with instructions.
	Wash food and water bowls.
	Carry buckets of water or other semi-heavy objects.
	Take home animal bedding and jackets to wash and return.

What shifts are you available for on a regular basis?
Generally morning shift starts at 8:30 and afternoon shift starts at 3:30. Both can be for a few hours depending on dog numbers. Shift times may vary a little each day depending on your kennel hand buddies and weather.
